Killing time in small town Alabama

Tree Houses II: Stevenson, Alabama: May 21, 2012

Dewy morning spiderwebs against a hay field with power lines.Tree Houses II

This one was more minimally edited, just a little lighting adjustment.  You can even see the dew drops in the web.  I love the power lines in the background.  Growing up in the country by a power plant I have always been fascinated by the juxtaposition of a the power plant equipment running through fields with dilapidated barns & so many signs of ye olden days it all seems out of sync.

I have the same thoughts when I go to Hollywood and look at the Belfonte nuclear plant cooling towers. And I wonder what the citizens of Belfonte in the 1800″s would think if they came back today and see those big towers in the horizon of their little town.

    • I know! I always loved them as a kid for that reason. It’s all this podunk country with mountains in the distance & somewhere in the middle is nuclear towers. They are so out of place.
